Jacksonville Luxury Homes for Sale is Improving

The new homes sales market for luxury homes in Jacksonville is improving …for the most part.  There are increases in the sales prices and the buyers are buying but that is not true for all sectors of the market.  Here is a clip from a recent article in the Jacksonville Busines Journal on the topic.

Northeast Florida March home sales, foreclosures rise

More houses sold in March this year, compared to 2011. But foreclosures rose too.

There’s good news and bad news for the Northeast Florida housing market.

First, the good: the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors    reports that housing the overall median sales price in March was up 5 percent from a year ago, to $130,000.

Inventory, or the number of homes on the market, dropped 30 percent, to 9,783 units.

Closed sales, however, were down 7 percent from a year ago.

But RealtyTrac reports that the number of houses in some stage of foreclosure increased almost 54 percent in March compared to March 2011. A total of 1,853 housing units in Northeast Florida were in …
